Now when I say Contemporary Ranch, I do not mean rambler. This home was literally on acres and acres of a ranch with horses grazing out front.
Floor plan (#11) Built by Mt. Sterling Custom Homes
From the moment you enter this home, you immediately see this spectacular open floor plan with the great room right in front of you and the kitchen and dining room off to the left of that. Here is the view of it from the second story with all those picture windows! It’s a good thing this family lives on multiple acres of land with no neighbors, so no reason to cover them up.
On the second story, this is the view of the loft area/family room that was open and seen from the main floor great room on the other side of the upstairs catwalk.
Next, up, let’s head to the spacious laundry room.
I love the wood cabinets and shelves in this laundry room and the fact that it can also double as a craft room or an office because of the built-in desk. I can’t get enough of these open wood shelves–I love them.
I took my kids through this house so they could see it as well. This was definitely their favorite house mostly because of the two-story full-size basketball court and workout area behind the garage. There was an upstairs office that overlooked the gym and was quite spacious that I didn’t get any pictures of, unfortunately.
Here is another view of the backyard with all that land. While I personally wouldn’t want to take care of all this landscaping (there was also a pond that isn’t pictured on the other side of the yard), how much fun would kids have plucking vegetables from the garden boxes and playing on the swings and trampoline. By the time I get my yard looking this good with all these features, my kids will be too old to play there (ha, ha–guess there’s always grandkids.)
Now let’s head back into the house and look at the kitchen, pantry, and bedrooms. Here is the sink area in the kitchen with the view to the backyard. I just love that touch of the open shelving here as well.
Here is the view of the side of the kitchen with the range and the fridge. The warmth of the wood cabinets and stone backsplash goes nicely with the cooler more industrial cement flooring and stainless steel.
Okay, serious pantry love–more thick wood shelves. I heart you, and I need to get me some of those water bottle organizers pronto (can you spot them?) Now for the master bedroom…
The beautiful views continued in the master bedroom where I first noticed this very unique chandelier and decor idea.
They framed gift bags that had sentimental significance to them…made me wonder what was inside those bags once upon a time. You could do this with other sentimental items as well, but I thought it was quite fitting for the master bedroom.
Gorgeous views out of every window in this home.
This was the “hers” side of the closet…whaaaat? Not gonna lie, it made me a little anxious seeing all of her clothes and shoes in there. Even though it was roped off, I was hoping that no one would swipe anything out of it.
Just beyond the his and hers closet was the master bathroom. The same design elements continued in here with very clean lines, wood, and a contemporary aesthetic.
Now onto the children’s bedrooms… (there were 4 of them). They incorporated at least one element of wainscot on the walls and monograms as well. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. Here is bedroom #1.
Bedroom #2…
Bedroom #3…
…and bedroom #4 with another cool light fixture.
I hope you enjoyed the tour of this contemporary ranch home. In case you missed it, here are my other top picks from the 2019 CV Parade of Homes.
